    Good Evening Everyone,

Boy is it hot! I think it even got the best of me today.

Thank you to Chris C for cutting the field to get it cleaned up!  I helped wrap up with the push-mower around the parking posts so he could get some flights in.  We gave into the heat by 1pm today, and I am glad we did.

Saturday the heat continues… But relief is coming.   I may make it out again, but it will be in the morning to beat the heat.  Winds 5-8 mph with gusts under 15mph in the morning.

If you do fly, bring & drink plenty of water.

Sunday, relief is on the way, but probably the planes will be grounded for most of the afternoon.  Rain will return… current forecast is to begin around 3pm.  An inch on Sunday, and another inch or more coming for Monday with the temps dropping into the upper 70’s – mid 80’s for the week.   Unless it is raining,  I will be out around 1pm.

Andy is having a successful equipment deployment in Taiwan… So he is flying, his birds are just a bit larger than we fly.

    He’s got about a week & a half-to-go before his return.

The Heli Fly last weekend was a success despite the rain… Thank you to Anthony, Tony, and the volunteers from the club for taking care of this first of more to come Heli Fly’s.

Enjoy your 4th of July Picnics & Stay Cool.

    Cya at the field soon,

    Jim

    Its Heli Fun Fly Saturday

    posted 2 weeks ago

    Good Afternoon CAF:

It’s Jim back at the controls again while Andy is working in Taiwan for the next three weeks… Remember he is 12 hours off of eastern time in the event that you reach out to him.

Anthony, Tony and many others have done an excellent job of planning and preparing for our Heli Fun Fly on Saturday.   I believe the only item out of their control has been mother-nature.

Currently, Saturday’s forecast is showing light rain until mid-day.  Of course, this is always subject to the winds of change.

The Heli Fun Fly is on Rain or Shine!  Volunteers, we still expect to see you.

Registration  opens at 8, Flying starts at 10am weather permitting.   Pilots will have their sport helis & some awesome scale helis!

CAF will be serving up a great lunch!  All members & guests are welcome to come out and dig in at noon.

Canopies will be setup so you won’t get wet!  (Don’t forget your chairs)

I know as of last week, they were still looking for desserts…. I bet they will still be consumed too!!

As a last minute addition, I am bring my Keurig….. so no excuses not to see you.

Sunday’s forecast look spectacular for this pilot… The rain will be gone with winds around 4mph with gusts under 10!

And, there is a chance we might have some leftovers…. We will see (no promises).

So, I will be out all weekend and hope that you are too!

Remember, no airplanes on Saturday until after the Heli event.

    Cya there,

    Jim

    CAF Update June 21

    posted 3 weeks ago

    Hello CAF,

Happy Father’s Day! I bet you can guess what I’m doing this Father’s Day… I’m going flying.

It looks like it may be a little breezy this weekend, but Sunday appears to be our best day with the lighter winds. I plan to be out around 1:00.

I took care of the mowing yesterday. Wow, the field is dry. A lot of the grass is already starting to go drought dormant. I also gave the potty a much-needed sponge bath. Things are looking good out there.

Next weekend is the Helicopter Fly-In. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help with the event. Tony said everything is covered and ready to go. Unfortunately, I will miss it this year. I leave for work travel on Tuesday and will be gone for three weeks. Jim will be handling the next three weekly emails while I’m away.

Hope everyone has a great Father’s Day,

    See u at the field

    Andy
